Why I started

I started my business in the heart of California which has the fiercest competition in the United States when it comes to starting a business. Over 1 million businesses are registered in the state of California alone. I started this business with my partner, Rose Hamilton, in high school. We progressed through college and reignited our passion for photography. After becoming mothers, expanding our skill set in photography, and brainstorm a new business; Tana Ava Taylor Adoption was born. When starting a business there are hours upon years of understanding every aspect, but when do you finally start? That’s when taking the risk to start a profitable business is right then and there. This post will focus on helping you start a profitable business in the Adoption niche.

What I learned

The beginning stage there are always the questions, what will my business be about? What services can I offer? Where does my expertise lie? Who is my target audience and where are they? What is my competition doing? We already know that it’ll be an adoption niche for your business purposes. So, having the want to understand the adoption industry can help you leap past a lot of obstacles that may jump in the way. This is the perfect niche because there is not a lot of talk about the industry aside from the actual adoption process. After a single parent, couple, or family has adopted, what else can be offered? That was the thought process for Rose and me. We had enhanced our knowledge of photography, which is one of the most popular niches in the world, therefore, how could we create a business around adoption and photography? As for myself, I was adopted when I was an infant. So, I understand how the children feel. The love, the acceptance, the family, the growth is so incredible in adoptive families.

Being an expert in the Adoption niche

What does being an expert in the adoption niche mean? How is that possible? Do I have to be adopted to understand? No, you do not. The understanding can also be researching and reading success stories of those who have been and adopted or have adopted. Having insight and have the creativity to add value to the market is what makes an expert. Similar to the finance niche, one can speak about budgeting and have incredible knowledge about it to where others want to hear what they have to say or offer. When it comes to making a profitable business in the adoption niche, what can you offer that sets you apart from the competition? The adoption niche is the tree and there are sperate roots that can still grow under it. Those roots are what can set you apart to have a successful business.

Have a story and/or support a cause

For myself, living in Los Angeles, there are thousands and thousands of different backgrounds with different upbringings. Therefore, in California, there is always a cause to support. Some may have stumbled across a new clothing brand and will see on their website that they are supporting an animal shelter or fighting hungry. Supporting a cause that others can connect to and agree with helps your business grow. How? Because it shows that you are not only for the profit, you are making a difference in your city, state, country, the world.

Having a story will put you above and beyond. This is your personal story, if you care to share, that shows you. With several blogs, you are dedicated to that blog because you see the writer, you see their background, you understand their purpose. That is how you can build a business and a brand. A story solidifies the trust rapport which is needed in order to be successful. Success can mean several different things to many people, but most would like to be successful financially. You can do one or the other with both being ideal but having the passion behind it all will drive you to be ambitious with your business.

Conclusion

I believe my personal experience paved the way for Tana Ava Taylor Adoption to become successful. Be relatable, professional, engaging, and have a marketing strategy that works for you.
